FIRST CLASS OPEN COACH

The most popular coach on our excursions is our MK1 First Class Open coaches.

These coaches feature comfortable reserved seating with additional legroom at tables of 2 or 4 aligned with panoramic windows allowing you to admire the stunning views that Scotland and the UK has to offer. Here, passengers can enjoy a quieter environment as well as attentive service, perfect for those seeking a more refined travel experience.

We also offer Silver Service Dining in these coaches with a freshly cooked breakfast and 3 course dinner provided directly to your seat with a glass of house wine. Complimentary tea and coffee served throughout by our stewards.

In First Class only we offer the addition of an at seat buffet service, Afternoon Tea* option and complimentary tea and coffee served throughout by our Volunteer Stewards allowing you to relax and enjoy the journey.

There is also a buffet coach on board for the sale of food and drink for the full duration of the Railtour, staffed by our friendly volunteers. A small shop with memorabilia can also be found here.

Standard CLASS OPEN COACH

Our Train also features MK1 Standard Class Open Coaches.

These coaches feature comfortable reserved seating arranged at tables of 4 all with panoramic windows allowing you to admire the stunning views that Scotland and the UK has to offer. This option is ideal for families, groups and those looking to connect with fellow travellers.

We also offer Silver Service Dining in these coaches under ‘CLUB CLASS’, same great dining experience as First Class but at a lower price. A freshly cooked breakfast and 3 course dinner are provided directly to your seat with a glass of house wine. Complimentary tea and coffee are served throughout by our stewards.

Standard Class Customers also have access to a buffet coach for the sale of food and drink for the full duration of the Railtour, staffed by our friendly volunteers. A small shop with memorabilia can also be found in our buffet car.

*An Air Conditioned MK2 coach can be used to supplement these coaches when required.

The SRPS fleet is currently undergoing a significant overhaul by a dedicated team of volunteers st Bo’ness, aimed at enhancing the safety, comfort, and longevity of our vintage carriages. This comprehensive refurbishment includes the installation of central door locking system (CDL), ensuring improved passenger security during journeys. Additionally, new toilet facilities (CET) are being fitted to meet modern standards of hygiene and convenience.

Structural improvements are also being undertaken to strengthen the integrity of our fleet, enabling us to maintain reliable operations for the next 15 years allowing our guests to experience the charm of travelling in these historic vehicles for years to come. This substantial investment reflects our commitment to providing an exceptional rail experience, ensuring that our excursions remain both safe and enjoyable for all passengers.
