Our fleet of heritage carriages has been undergoing a significant overhaul by a dedicated team of volunteers at Bo’ness, aimed at enhancing the safety, comfort and longevity of our vintage fleet. This comprehensive refurbishment includes the installation of improved passenger comforts and a central door locking system (CDL) which will improve passenger safety during journeys. Additionally, new toilet facilities are being fitted to meet modern standards of hygiene and convenience.

Structural improvements are also being undertaken to strengthen the integrity of our fleet, enabling us to maintain reliable operations for the next 15 years and allowing our guests to experience the charm of travelling in these historic vehicles for years to come. This substantial investment of over £600,000 reflects our commitment to providing an exceptional rail experience, ensuring that our excursions remain both safe and enjoyable for all passengers for many years to come.

SRPS CARRIAGES

FIRST CLASS CARRIAGE

The most popular carriages on our excursions are our First Class carriages.

These carriages feature comfortable reserved seating with additional legroom at tables of two or four and aligned with panoramic windows allowing you to admire the stunning views that Scotland and the UK has to offer. Here, passengers can enjoy a quieter environment as well as attentive service, perfect for those seeking a more refined travel experience.

First Class also offers the addition of an at seat buffet service, an Afternoon Tea** option and complimentary tea and coffee served throughout by our Volunteer Stewards allowing you to relax and enjoy the journey.

If you prefer a leg stretch, there is always a buffet car which sells hot and cold food and drink for the full duration of your journey, staffed by our friendly volunteers. A small shop with gifts and memorabilia can also be found here.

We also offer PREMIER DINING in some of these carriages, offering a silver service freshly cooked breakfast and 3 course dinner provided directly to your seat plus complimentary fruit juice in the morning and a glass of house wine or beer in the evening, plus tea, coffee and biscuits served throughout by our welcoming stewards.

Standard CLASS CARRIAGE

Our Train also features Standard Class carriages.

These carriages feature comfortable reserved seating arranged at tables of four and all with panoramic windows allowing you to admire the stunning views that Scotland and the UK has to offer. This option is ideal for families, groups and those looking to connect with fellow travellers.

We also offer CLUB DINING in some of these carriages, which has exactly the same great dining experience as First Class, with an offering of silver service freshly cooked breakfast and 3 course dinner provided directly to your seat plus complimentary fruit juice in the morning and a glass of house wine or beer in the evening, plus tea, coffee and biscuits served throughout by our welcoming stewards.

Standard Class customers also have access to the buffet car for the sale of hot and cold food and drink for the full duration of your journey, staffed by our friendly volunteers. A small shop with gifts and memorabilia can also be found here.
